  • In 2012, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime launched a global awareness-raising campaign on the impact of organized crime, an international trade generating an annual turnover of $ 870 billion (at the time). In 2012, this staggering amount was equivalent to around 1.5 per cent of global GDP, or six times the budget for official development assistance, or seven per cent of the world's exports.
  • As a global, multi-billion-dollar concern, there is a strong link between counterfeiting and transnational organized crime. The campaign “Counterfeit: Don’t buy into organized crime” produced by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime highlights this link.
  • The Cultural Property Public Service Announcement (PSA) was produced to raise awareness on how cultural property theft is destroying our common heritage and benefiting transnational organized crime.
  • The #ListenFirst PSA focuses on science-based drug prevention targeting parents, teachers, policymakers, health workers and prevention workers. It aims to raise awareness on the importance of listening to children and youth as the first step to help them grow up healthy and safe.
  • #SeriousAboutWildlifeCrime is a PSA aimed at highlighting the scale and devastating impact of wildlife and forest crime, which is today one of the world's largest transnational organized criminal activities, alongside trafficking in drugs, arms, and human beings.
  • ‘Decision' - Your choice in acting against corruption is a video spot to illustrate that people are not simply at the mercy of corruption, and often have the power to say no. 'Decision' highlights that it is possible to act against corruption and support fighting this crime.
  • Better Future is an award-winning spot on the trafficking in men, women and children for forced labour, such as in factories, fields or as domestic servants. The spot aims to warn potential victims about the dangers of trafficking, and to raise awareness among the general public of this growing problem.
  • Work Abroad is a PSA focused on women who are at risk of becoming victims of human trafficking networks. The spot uses powerful images to reveal the harsh realities behind attractive job offers abroad and seeks to educate potential victims of the dangers involved in human trafficking.
  • UN.GIFT 'Open Your Eyes to Human Trafficking' is a PSA focused on human trafficking and the need for the general public to stay alert and recognize the signs.
  • Photographers against wildlife crime (images also available on The Guardian’s website) is a project bringing together a group of photographers using their powerful images to raise awareness and funds to help stop the illegal wildlife trade.
  • I am Not Medicine Stop Wildlife Crime is a PSA produced by Splash! Animals and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to build awareness and create a movement to quickly reduce and put an end to poaching.
