Student assessment
This section provides suggestions for post-class assignments for the purpose of assessing student understanding of the Module. Suggestions for pre-class or in-class assignments are provided in the Exercises section.
Research essay assignment on the role of specific technology in the context of trafficking in persons/smuggling of migrants. Suggested 3000 words. Possible questions are:
- How is technology used to facilitate smuggling and trafficking?
- How can technology assist in the identification and protection of trafficked victims without compromising their data and privacy rights?
- How can online offending be used to exploit trafficked victims?
- Will human exploitation be reduced as technological methods of offending are increasingly identified?
- To what extent would virtual courts be useful in this context?
- Any other sensible question based on the key issues.
