Section 3:
Section 51 of the Opium Act B.E. 2472 amended by Opium Act No. 6 B.E. 2494 is hereby repealed and replaced by the following:
´Section 51.Whoever, in violation of this Act:
(1) Carries into the Kingdom or exports opium or opium residue;
(2) arranges for the export into the Kingdom of transit through the Kingdom of opium or opium residue, or arranges for the transfer of opium or opium residue in transit to a different vehicle in the Kingdom;
(3) Shall be subject to a term of imprisonment of six months to twenty years and a fine equal to twenty times the value of the opium or opium residue but nit less than five thousand baht.
(4) For the purpose of computing the fine, the value of opium or opium residue shall be deemed 10 baht per gram.´
Section 4:
Section 51 bis of the Opium Act B.E. 2472 amended by Opium Act No. 6 B.E. 2494 is hereby repealed and replaced by the following:
´Section 51 bis. Whoever arranges, in whatever way, for another to have or trade in opium or opium residue in violation of this Act shall be subject to a term of imprisonment of six months to twenty years and a fine of five thousand baht to one hundred thousand baht.´
Section 5:
Section 53 of the Opium Act B.E. 2472 amended by Opium Act No. 6 B.E. 2494 is hereby repealed and replaced by the following:
´Section 53. Whoever in violation of this Act:
1-has opium or
2-buys or sells opium
Shall be subject to a term of imprisonment of six months to twenty years and a fine equal to twenty times the value of the opium but nit less than five thousand baht. For the purpose of computing the fine, the value of opium shall be deemed 10 baht per gram´.
