
This case involved an attempt to smuggle three Indonesian nationals by car from Malaysia to Singapore sometime in 2001. The main accused in this case was the driver of the vehicle who acted under the instructions of another unidentified man and was promised MYR 200 for his involvement. The smuggled migrants were also furnished with fraudulent Indonesian passport which they were told to present to immigration officials. The driver was later charged and convicted for offences relating to the smuggling of migrants.
