The defendant Ali Syah Ahmed tried to illegally transport several Egyptians from Jordan to Syria in October 2010. He was caught by the Jordanian armed forces and arrested, and the Egyptian persons were able to escape.
The Court convicted the defendant of human trafficking and sentenced him to 6 months in prison, as the act committed falls under the definition of human trafficking in the Jordanian Law on Combating Human Trafficking (Article 3).
